What materials are used in my Helix Mattress?

Each Helix Mattress is made using high-end materials in varying densities and IFDs in order to achieve different feel and support characteristics. While the layers and specific materials in your mattress may differ from model to model, we use the following materials:

Cover: Varies by model and options selected on the mattress store page.

  • Our Core Collection mattress models include a choice between two hypoallergenic top fabrics: our Soft Touch 100% polyester cover, designed to promote airflow, or the premium GlacioTex Cooling Pillow Top, a 1" pillow top with a 50/50 blend of polyester and polyethylene cover, which is cool to the touch and pulls heat away from your body.
  • Luxe mattress models also include a choice between two hypoallergenic top fabrics: our moisture-wicking TENCEL™ cover or the GlacioTex™ Cooling Cover, made with fibers with high thermal conductivity for rapid heat dissipation.
  • The Helix Elite collection includes our advanced GlacioTex™ Elite Technology. This phase change fabric optimizes your sleep temperature from the minute you lie down providing you with all-night cooling comfort.
  • The Helix Kids Mattress is covered in a hypoallergenic and breathable TENCEL™ fabric and is treated with a water-repellent finish and a hygienic microbe shield.
     

Foams: Varies by model and options selected on the mattress store page.

  • Gel Memory Foam - Uniquely contouring and cushioning, we use Gel Memory Foam - a high-density special Helix blend. IFD: 10-18. Density: 1.8-4.0 PCF.
  • Helix Dynamic Foam - Our special latex-foam hybrid alternative, designed to react to and cushion your body. IFD: 10-20. Density: 2.5-3.75 PCF.
  • Helix Responsive Foam - Providing pressure relief and ergonomic support for your body type. IFD: 18-55. Density: 1.5-1.8 PCF.
  • Supreme Support Memory Foam - Ultra-dense memory foam used in our Elite models that provides excellent pressure relief. IFD: 13-22. Density: 3.5-7.0 PCF.
  • DuraDense Foam - Used in the bottom layer of the mattress to provide base support and durability IFD: 55. Density: 1.5-1.8 PCF.

Fire Retardant Layer: 

All Helix mattresses are 100% fiberglass-free. Our fire retardant layer is made of a chemical-free rayon barrier, a derivative of cellulose (bamboo fiber). Rayon fiber is a manufactured fiber composed of 100% regenerated cellulose.


Coils:

Individually Wrapped Coils (8 inches) - Hundreds of individual coils made from 100% tempered steel help to cradle your body while also limiting motion transfer. All Core Collection mattresses include reinforced side coils (lengthwise) to provide edge support. All Luxe Collection and Elite Collection mattresses include full perimeter reinforcement.
